i found a little tikes digital camera at the op shop on thursday, the kind that actually takes photos, with a little LCD viewfinder on the back and a working flash. it was $3, i had no idea if it worked but i decided to take a gamble. brought it home, popped some batteries in and YES, we have a very happy toddler.
here are a few of mae's photos from yesterday, including a lovely self portrait and sweet shot of her buddy, annie : )
mae loves cameras and photos, probably as a result of having a dslr in her face since birth. i'm trying to foster this little love as much as i can with a 2.5 year old so, once shane got home from work yesterday, i took maesey out for a little camera journey. she actually only took two photos on our alley walk - i think she had a better time looking at all the fruit trees we passed, apricots, pears, figs, apples, olives, huge trees heavy with nearly ripe fruit - but i took a bunch and tried to show her how i was looking for different forms, colour, compositions. i think it will be fun to continue doing this as she gets older, even searching out particular colours or shapes on our walks to keep things interesting. not that taking photos could ever be boring to me.
Looks like we've been on the same walk :)
ReplyDeleteyour walks through the neighbourhood have been a bit of an inspiration : ) x

Does Mae find the camera easy to use? We were going to get Matilda one for Christmas and then forgot about it.. so now we're planning on one for her birthday present.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you found one at an oppy!
Nice photos from both of you :)
*cuteness* a sweet reminder of a lovely morning!
