the bestest weekend EVER.

sewjourn4.jpg

this past weekend i had the pleasure of sewing, chatting, eating and drinking with the loveliest of ladies for two whole days. thank you jo (the superwoman), kirsty (the technical genius), christie (the sewing guru), julia (the comedian) and carly (the all rounder) for a fantastic weekend!

in the weeks leading up to this i was really worried about how i'd feel leaving mae and how much i would miss her while i was away. when the time came, however, i surprised myself by sneaking out while she was napping and leaving her grandfather in charge for a few hours before shane got home. i drove away without a second though, i was THAT keen to get to sewjourn*, and felt such a degree of GLEE the whole drive up it was almost embarrassing. that feeling stayed with me pretty much all weekend - getting up at 8:30am to fog rolling across a country field and making my way out to the studio to find a few cozy ladies already out there, crafting away? that, my friends, is true glee.

true glee is also coming home refreshed and happy to a little munchkin who has acquired a whole new range of sounds and actions from a fun weekend with daddy and seems much bigger than when i left : )

*and speaking of sewjourn - perfection. utter gorgeousness and perfection. the other group of ladies who weekend there were completely right (thank you to them for letting us know it exists!)

I so remember that feeling of *glee* when first getting away. I expect the feeling will be tripled when I first manage to get away from *three*(!) kids. Not for a while yet though. Your weekend sounds fabulous - I think Sewjourn is just the best idea.

  7. You are so lucky to be surrounded with all the sewing experts and ofcourse you are also one of them. Unfortunately I ve no one who can guide me. I am totally new to the craft world and would like to have some advice on buying a sewing machine. I m confused about which machine to buy and for what price. Some told me Pfaff is the best but now its manaufactured in China and doesnt have the same quality according a sales woman. I ve no idea which one to buy. Please can you help me!
