hi folks! i've been a bit quiet lately, just enjoying the house and lists and progress and a bit of esty shopping here and there....
i bought this lovely wee snowbird from apple & eve and it was delivered with a great little book about owls with amazing illustrations. i think the snowbird (who has lovely embroidered blue flowers on the other side) will hang somewhere in my studio, when i have a studio again.
i aslo picked up this fabulous screenprinted, leather keyring from bonspiel creations as a little housewarming present for myself. the designer is one of the amazing talents behing smoking lily in victoria and vancouver, canada and the back has a metallic pink maple leaf - just perfect!
craft wise i haven't been up to much - scheming projects and dreaming of setting up my studio in a few months. short days are hampering our reno progress a little bit as we can't really get anything done in the evenings - it's dark by 6pm now, signalling that it is supposed to be winter but the weather is still beautiful every day. so weekends are spent with shane pulling cladding off the house, me preparing garden beds and tidying up the yard and baxter barking at everyone who walks by like he's the most ferocious beast around. i've started and frogged about 6 knitting projects in the last three weeks - trying to alter patterns without doing a swatch gauge is proving to be my ultimate downfall! i don't know why doing a swatch seems like such a pain but starting and spending hours knitting to then realizing that the project is going to be waaaaayyy to big seems like a sensible idea?
