sweet, sweet friday

man, these weeks just seem to be flying by - busy at work, busy at home, before i know it it's the weekend again (and still no further work on sandy's site...). the oobee trade has slowed down this week which is sort of a good thing since i won't have a chance to get back to the sewing machine for a few weeks. i would like to make one more batch though, before my mom gets here on march 7th, because after that it'll be ages until we're moved and i have my new craft room set up. the new craft room set up, by the way, it taking up a lot of my day dreaming time lately. i'm. so. excited!!!! to get in there and organize and arrange it just so. to be able to put up shelves and inspiration boards and have wooden floors again!!!! (i'm not a carpet fan. wooden floors just seem to have so much more personality.)

i've also been a bit preoccupied with a need to spend the money in my Paypal account. just can't leave it sitting in there, it's making me antsy so i ordered some Moo cards yesterday and then a few gocco printed cards from this very amazing Etsy shop. can't wait for the mail to start rolling in! while i was going through my photography, choosing the pics for my Moo cards, i was struck again with the desire to see some of my images printed, like really printed, "fine art" printed with archival inks on cotton rag paper. i've wanted to persue selling my photography for a few years now and i think, after finding a place in melbourne that does this kind of printing at pretty reasonable prices, that i just need to take the plunge. it's a bit scary because my photgraphy feels really personal to me, almost more personal than my handcrafted things which doesn't really make sense. somehow taking a photo that i'm really proud of is almost more satisfying than anything else (almost. i'm finding knitting the cowl pretty satisfying at the moment. i ended up frogging the "moss diamond" pattern and starting again with a double strand and a more basic pattern, i'll take a new pic this weekend. i love it! too bad it's 38ÂșC outside...) ANYWAY, i'm going to start off with 6 images, 4 prints of each and i need a bit of help choosing which ones to print. here are my favourite 12, can you guys give me some feedback as to which ones you like best? the prints will be 5.75" x 7.5" with a white .25" border (14.6cm x 19 cm with a white 6mm border)...

  7. I love the colour in 2. I also like 8, 10, and 12. A crop of 9 would also be fantastic.
The pegs and reels are good too.

I love how you use focus and depth-of-field in your shots. Flowers aren't lame! There's a reason why people love taking photos of them.
