kids clothes week challenge

meg at elsie marley is hosting the kids clothes week challenge again next month and i'll be joining in (although i'll be sewing autumn/winter gear instead of spring). the idea is that you sew one hour a day, each day for 7 days. in meg's words, "we all have the urge to sew clothes for our children, but we don't always give ourselves the time to do it. If you commit to sitting in front of your sewing machine, or tracing patterns, or cutting fabric, for one hour each day, then at the end of the week you will have some very well dressed kids. And a very proud mama (or papa) too!"

i'll be working on tights, pants and long sleeve dresses for my crew of two. what about you? up for the challenge?

  1. sounds like a great idea... I actually started cutting out patterns last night.. so maybe I could do it and stay motivated!! :)

  2. I'm joining in too but can't decide what to make. Any pattern ideas for long sleeved dresses?

  3. i'm going to try the long sleeve sunki in a pinwale corduroy, i think. and i found a couple of options in ottobre (a tunic in 2/2010 and a long sleeve jersey dress, which is supposed to be a nightdress but whatever, in 6/2011). that will probably do it but i feel the urge to browse my japanese sewing books JUST IN CASE...

  4. I am extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your blog.Did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it's rare to see a nice blog like this one these days..
