They look beautiful Leslie, I love your handprinted fabric.
The hand printed fabric is too perfect Leslie - it takes your Oobees to a whole new place. Love them!
they are awesome. your fabric is perfect.
They are adorable!!! I love that your photographed them on that awesome quilt. I MUST ask - did you free motion or walking foot those lines? Also, what kind of machine do you use? I'm trying to make a decision and am stuck.... reading too many reviews! Thanks. firstname.lastname@example.org
thanks, guys!elizabeth, i used a walking foot and it took me AGES to quilt that one, like nine hours or something crazy like that. i LOVE the look of heavy quilting but it's such hard work! i use a janome DC3050, it's a mid-range machine and super good value. i've had it for almost six years and have really put it through it's paces, it's never given me any trouble. and i never service it, although i probably should, i just clean it out every couple of months.
I can't believe it! You must really know how to get the quilt through the harp space - I'm trying to decide b/w a Viking (10 inch) or Janome Horizon (11 inch). THanks for writing back - I am in love with your work - the actual quilting and the improvisational piecing. I would love to know more about how you do it. Should I check the archives? What a lovely group of osbees Leslie! They really look screen printed. You really inspired me to get carving again; I have tons of carving rubber. Thanks for the tips on the ink you used. And that quilt. really beautiful.
oh and welcome back! Glad the trip back was better!
Love the osbees...so awesome. I really want to get some of my designs onto fabric, just wondering how you expose your design onto screens (if you do it that way) or do you outsource it? any tips would be great :)
mambigirl, these are actually block printed, not screenprinted. i'm just starting out with screenprinting, you can see my results from using drawing fluid on a screen in one of my recent posts.
Great will keep looking thanks! Beautiful results.
