solo

op shop kids books

toddler napping, baby hanging with her canadian grandma, me behind the wheel, rain on the windscreen, stereo playing so, so loudly, old radiohead and white stripes and massive attack, fleetingly thinking that i may blow the speakers, singing all the louder, visiting op shop after op shop, finding kid book treasure after treasure, a gorgeous country road cardigan for mae, a couple of shirts for me, three hours of precious, golden, me time... but the very best part... was the drive.

  3. I remember a little while ago, driving in the rain, listening to the Pixies, very loudly, loving every second of it. What a treat.

  5. It's amazing how these previously taken for granted moments become cherished when you have kids. I'm with you all the way.

You have summed it up so well... a tiny bit of time to oneself is so precious these days and does wonders to recharge the batteries. However I often forget to change the cd in the car and find myself wondering why I'm still listening to (the lovely) Justine Clarke when the kids are no longer in the car....
