the eternal fabric shopper
mmmmm. and this is just my haul from one store today, as afterwards i met my buddy, emily, and her wee mite, annie, at patchwork on central park and bought a few more odds and ends. then i came home and found in my mailbox a sample pack ordered from kristen doran (MAN, they are nice. nice, nice, nicety nice.) and package of scraps from this etsy seller (also super nice japanese scrap bundle). you want to add to your stash quickly? buy packs of scraps, dude. it is so beyond fun to sift through them when they arrive, such lovely surprises and a great chance to see prints in person. i've bought yardage of many prints after using bits from scrap packs, sometimes the colours just don't translate well on the computer screen but in real life they are perfect.
and speaking of my buddy emily, she made a completely stunning fleur playmat from my pattern and i have been meaning to show it off here for months.
along with a beautiful colour combination of yellow and soft blue, she is the most clever person ever and figured out a way to attach bars on into the playmat to hang toys from! so clever and so lovely for her little nephew : ) emily talks about how she did it in her post here in case anyone else wants to give it a try.
