belated easter

mae's new bunny

happy late easter, everybody! we had a gorgeous weekend, visiting with shane's family and friends in bendigo, checking out the easter festivities, me hitting the ops shop and working on unpicking the ill fated quilt in the evenings. we came home sunday and then yesterday went out to pick up our fancy new dishwasher (fancy in the electronic vs. hand sense), which my talented husband installed last night. my life just got so much easier, it's not even funny.

mae's new bunny

late thursday night i whipped up this little easter treat for maesey. i had a well dressed oobee in the works for her, in the same fuzzy bamboo/cotton fabric, but then decided it wasn't "easter-y" enough. i pulled this guy together on the fly, with a vague idea of what i wanted, and i pretty much love him. he's much smaller than any toy i've made before, long and lean with very chewable legs and ears, and just feels really good to hold. mae seems slightly indifferent towards him so far... maybe he'll have to come live with me in my sewing room where he is appreciated : )

It's beautiful! You'd think with those long legs, Mae would love to chew on it. Aren't they funny which toys they choose....

We were in Bendigo visiting family at Easter too! Only for a day trip up from Lancefield though so didn't get to go to any op shops. Hope you are getting excited about the weekend ahead.........

  6. Lovely Easter sewing!

It sounds really rather dull & domestic but having a dishwasher changed my life for the better! I was more than happy to knock out cupboards to fit ours in...it was a second hand giveaway but it's still going strong & has outlasted my sisters new fancy one installed at the same time. Ecostore do a good dishwashing powder & rinse that has worked well for us (& makes me feel better about using it!)
