and on to other things

marketroundup

the market on sunday ended up being quite good really, even though i feel like i had a pretty average location, right near the exit. but mae was so well behaved and it was nice to spend some time as a family, even if we were "working". we always seem to have so many things to do around the house that we don't get out together enough on the weekends. it was lovely to meet some fellow bloggers and readers in real life, too, although i'm always a bit frazzled when i do markets so hopefully i didn't seem super crazy. there were a few people who stopped by that i forgot to find out whether they had a blog i could visit them at so if you're one of them, please leave a comment so i can track you down, especially the lovely girl with the baby close to mae's age who gave lyle the oobee a much needed good home : )

i didn't feel like i was very busy a lot of the time but when i totaled up my cash at the end of the day i was pleasantly surprised. i'm itching to spend it, of course, an itch that was only slightly tempered by trying to unpack the remainder of my stock into my ridiculously overstuffed sewing room. i hope to have everything into my shop by the end of this coming weekend - there will be a little of everything plus some clearance and custom listings. and speaking of my overcrowded sewing room, i've decided i just need to let some stuff go so next week i'll be giving away some fabric and selling some of my japanese craft books right here. i need to create some space so i can spend some money, damnit!

oh and by the way, i finally, finally updated my homepage on my "official" website so if you land there you can go straight to the shop, come here or send me an email. plus i actually got the favicon (the little icon in the web address bar) to work! check it out here.

**update: the link is fixed now, thanks for the alert! guess i'm not so web savvy afterall...

Great to hear that you had a good market and will agree that it is fun to get out as a family, even if it is just for a walk. :D

It was lovely to meet you on the weekend, but I was kind of sad I didn't get across to your stall until you were all packed up! I was super impressed with how well behaved your beautiful baby was on the day. For obvious reasons (ie. they turn me into an instant fishwife), I sent mine away with their dad.

Hi Leslie - I stopped in to say hi (and felt a bit like a crazy stalker) to you and wee Mae. I'm glad the market went well for you, your creations are just gorgeous :)

  7. Glad you had a good ay too. I found that it was pretty constant too. I was so hoping to come over and say hi but I didn't get a chance, plus I get a bit nervous too.
