so...

missed a day didn't i? yep. but on two days in the last week i have posted twice so i think the balance still lies in my favour. i had a busy day yesterday trying to tidy the house as we had a little photo shoot happening here today. the shoot was super duper fun and as a result of preparing for it, i finally have my sewing room and mae's room pretty much done (mae's room needs one last thing hung on the wall). i think i'll set up my tripod tomorrow and try to get some shots of my own of my sewing room but here are a couple snaps i took of mae's new play area.

updated to add: i was a bit tired last night and realised this morning that i hadn't actually said too much about what you can see in mae's room! i'd been looking for a rug to put down but haven't found anything in our price range that is suitable. i thought for now i'd just by a rug underlay (those rubbery mesh thingys that keep your rugs from slipping) and put our picnic quilt down for her to play on, i actually really like the look of it and am thinking i might just make her a special quilt to put down on her floor so we can have our picnic quilt back as spring warms up. and, of course, there is the fleur playmat i made for her before she was born and a variety of toys both vintage and handmade. (don't worry, she does have her fair share of fairly garish, modern fisher price toys as well, mostly found at op shops, including a large red car that she walks around the house pretty much constantly, they all reside in the living room.) she's really happy to play in her room now, besides just pulling all the books off of the book shelf that you can't see in these photos. and i don't know what i was thinking last night but this room is not done at all! i'm still on the hunt for a little table and another chair or two.

  1. Love the photos. It's so much fun picking out the handmade things in the pictures, much better than store bought. Mae looks like she is having so much fun.

  6. Ahh the room looks beautiful, very tranquil. I had that same tv when I was little, I loved it, like magic (I think I liked it better than the real tv!)

  7. Love the whole look of the room and am wishing we had less FP stuff & more vintage - love the tv toy - had one as a kid and looking for one for Aury - must start hitting op shops and garage sales more faithfully (but afraid to be tempted by other things...)
