miss mae monkey moo

balloon

this baby. this sweet baby girl. she just keep getting better. better and cuter and smarter. more clever, more fun, more entertaining and better company, every. single. day. she's interested in everything, an inquisitive explorer of nooks, crannies, corners and drawers. she crawls at top speed, chasing the dog around the living room, laughing her head off the whole time. she reaches tentatively towards things she knows she is not supposed to touch and looks at us, waiting for the no. she waves her arms to music or if i sing and do a silly dance for her. she walks along the furniture to get what she wants - the remote, the phone, baxter's tail. she'll head towards me if i have any food to get her sample and reaches for my glass to have a her gulps of my water. she has ticklish armpits and loves to be twirled around but only if you hold her very close to you and never never not ever facing outwards. she makes so many sounds, so much baby chatter, the cutest noises you could ever possibly hear. she claps her hands on cue and if you're very, very lucky, you will get a wave returned to you by a sweet flapping baby hand. i am lucky.

  1. sweet sweet babies - how lovely to see them explore, grow and become little people. My boy is 2 and the (wonderful) journey continues.

  4. Oh yeah, and the upward climb of interestingness and how much you just love to be with them continues! Soon she'll be talking! And telling you stuff! And you will marvel at what the inside of her mind must be like! So glad you are having fun together :-)

  6. oh leslie, she's just gorgeous :) and you know what? it gets even better :) and even more fun! just wait until she gives hugs and kisses and says her first word...and all the other things still to come! although with the hugs and kisses and first words come the temper tantrums, and they are, well, 'special' in their own way, but oh so worth it! i've missed seeing your little cutie and how she's growing into a gorgeous little girl, it's nice to be back in this beautiful space of yours :)

  7. ali is right, it does keep getting better! i lamented losing my "baby" from the moment she was born but as she grew, and learned, she became more interesting; had more depth of character. and it doesn't stop. just gets deeper. although, her basic personality now is the same as it was at 6 months. only now, she can yell using words. lots of words.

    and it's awesome!

oh and yes, so many kisses and hugs. and things like her climbing on me while i am still in bed, laying on top of me and with a nice hug she says "you're MY mama".

  10. She is so precious. And you know, my daughter's name is Mabel. I've called her Moo since the day she was born (Miss Mabel Moo, which is now just Moo). She's almost 2 and still Moo.

I think she will hate me when she is 12.

    :)
