autumn gardening

weekend gardening

i finally spent some much needed time in the garden over the weekend, aided by my back-from-fishing husband who tackled all the unsavoury tasks such as heavy pruning and stump removal. i got to do the fun stuff like digging out and spreading all the lovely compost onto the garden beds and planting my new seedlings: snowpeas, garden peas, brussel sprouts, red onions and mixed lettuces coming right up... in about three to five months. i also planted seeds for spring onions, cream gold onions, garlic chives (we like our oniony flavours around here), cos (romaine) lettuce and spinach and hope to add some potatoes and garlic into the the winter garden mix before calling it quits. it feels so great to be making some progress out there after basically abandoning the entire yard at the onset of pregnancy and watching it suffer through the summer heat. everything seems to be coming back just fine and my favourite rose is back in bloom... so lovely.

Oh my god oh my god!!! This is blog#3~

This arvo I was thinking 'I want to grow some vegies' & then googled to find out about it. I was turned off by the threat of pests, I'm no good with bugs. I thought I probably couldn't do it anyway. But then I stumbled across one blog & she was growing her own vegies; what a coincidence. Then I read another and I thought if i find one more, that means I'll go for it. You are blog number3! *giggles*

I'm Maria btw haha, You can catch me at http://blognow.com.au/makemyheartsing
