op shop fabric

very often when i go op shoppong i find fabric that i know is good but it's just not my style and i know i'll never use it but feel compelled to buy it anyway. this is what happened last time i was thrifting it up in bendigo - i found meters and meters of heavy laura ashley cotton.

totally not my thing.

but.
just.
couldn't.
leave.
the.
store.
without it.

i'm thinking when we move house (no, don't get excited, this is not a veiled hint that we've found a house, even though we did go look at one yesterday that was okay) i'll need to do a big ebay fabric purge to unburden myself of all the fabric i've collected and will never use. and then i can go buy more.

They're nice, especially the yop one.

  2. nice fabrics - why not make a quilt with these three plus add some solid squares of chocolate brown, blue and white. I have the same problem, buying fabric from thrift stores that I can't resist and now have 5 large rubbermaid totes full to the brim.

You might consider what this girl does with opshopped vintage fabrics. Mate, she can't sell them fast enough.

I like that top one..it seems a little retro for Laura Ashley!

  5. To echo Tricia, I could totally see a quilt with those fabrics.

I always wished we could have gotten up to Bendigo before we left Australia -- it seems like you had great finds from their local op shops and from the woollen mill, too.
