i have other things to write about, including a mini book review as promised in my comments the other day, but i want to leave shauna's story up for another couple of days as suggestions are stil being added. i keep wracking my brain - what to make with a whole lotta tulle?
tulle..hmmm...i'm stumped!! i will ponder this though!
ReplyDeleteMy cousin has Cystic Fibrosis, and recently had a lung transplant, which has given her a new life, although for how long, who knows.
ReplyDeleteI imagine that for most of her life the idea of living long enough to get married, have a wedding, has been something she could only dream about.
I wonder if there's a way that the dress could give inspiration to young girls suffering CF ... that they can survive to experience such happiness. Certainly there are special CF wards in big hospitals... the Prince Charles in Brisbane for example has a special CF unit with a number of dedicated and specialist medical residents and fellows. It's where my cousin had her lung transplant. Perhaps the dress could be framed ... I have seen fashion items treated this way before.. big frame... hung within the frame... and donated to a CF unit somewhere to hang in a reception area or ward? There could be a lovely plaque/explanation of what the dress is and what it represents next to it... perhaps a really uplifting thing?
